On the island São Miguel, which is the largest island in the Azores, you will be welcomed by Christina and Claude for a real feel good week. On their beautiful farm you will enjoy great hospitality, home cooked food mainly made from the islands own products, and a lot of care.
The week will give you a program filled with activities with a skilled guide, swims in the wonderful hot springs, 1 hour yoga, jungle hikes, massage, tasting of the islands specialties, whale- and dolphin safari and of course free time for shopping, the beach or just relaxing in the hammock.
You will get to visit a fantastic botanic garden with a rich flora of exotic trees, bushes and flowers, a pineapple plantation, a factory where the typical Portuguese blue and white ceramics are made and you will also get to visit the islands own tea factory. Of course you will be offered to buy these specialties as well.

Swimwear is required each day if you want to enjoy the lovely hot springs which you can find all over the island, they have a temperature around 35 degrees Celsius. The hikes are tailored to the wish and fitness of the participants. On the farm, you also have the option to book lessons or trail rides on nice and well kept beautiful lusitano horses.
You will experience a green and flowery island with stunning views.
São Miguel is a volcanic island that offers dramatic scenery. The island has many small villages beside the capital, Ponta Delgada. A visit to São Miguel is in a certain way almost like traveling back in time. Parts of the population lives in an agricultural society. In many places farmers still use horse and buggy for transportation, primarily for transporting the milk, and it is not uncommon that families are large, with up to ten children.
The villa where you stay is situated in the village Livramento. From the villa, it takes about ten minutes to walk down to the beautiful beach of Praia do Populo where the ocean is ever-present. During the journey you will experience and see sites that provides relaxation for body and soul. Azores is a great place for a feel-good week.
In the sea around Sao Miguel there is an abundance of wildlife and one of the days you will see the green island from a distance when you set out on a whale and dolphin watching (unless the weather prevents). You will have the chance to meet several kinds of dolphins, pilot whales and the magnificent sperm whales. Seeing the island from the sea is just an experience worth the trip.
Everywhere you will be astonished of the dramatic and beautiful scenery with winding roads that often follow the edges of the volcano. The Azores gives strength and nutrition to take home.
The yoga which you have the opportunity to participate in is called Ashtanga yoga and involves breathing exercises, asanas (body positions) and gives you a deeper stability in mind and body. The experience you get, you can continue to use back home.
The cuisine is naturally healthy and most of the food is cooked by the island's own raw materials. Lots of vegetables, fruits and different types of spicy stews are common features. As the Azores are widely known for its fantastic pineapple you should of course join the trip to Faja de Baixo, where you will get the possibility to taste the fresh fruit and learn about the growing process.
